All the girls wish me good luck on my new gig and I head to the car. My brothers are always in awe about how much dad lends me the car. Well it’s only me and him who drive it now so why should it sit in the driveway? It isn’t like my mom and dad ever do anything! It is so great to have Leslie there now. Her persistence on a weekly outing is a great idea. Bill is a push-over so I just tell him what I am doing and he agrees with everything. Women need to stick together and stay in touch for our mental health. We need to have a sounding board and to vent our troubles and frustrations, as well as share our joys and accomplishments. My friends listen and are genuinely interested in me. Why should that ever change just because we get married and have kids one day? I asked my mother a couple of years ago if she thought I was pretty. I guess since I had never really asked anything that personal before I shouldn’t have expected anything personal back. She told me that she couldn’t be a good judge of that because I am her daughter, and she sees me every day. I took that as a no. How else was I supposed to decipher that? Leslie and the girls tell me I am beautiful frequently. I still have difficulties believing it, but I am working on it. My girlfriends make me feel good. A weekly fix is a very good idea.
